What happens at an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting?
Q. I hate to ask this because I'm purely asking for educational purposes. A class is requiring me to go in order to write a short paper, but I do not want to impose on people who are there for help, and I wouldn't want to make them uncomfortable by sitting there and watching them during their experience. My instructor told us nothing about what to expect and the assignment just asks to go through and tell a story of what our experience was, but I was hoping someone could help me out. I'd really and truly appreciate it! Thanks in advance.

A. If you REALLY want to get a flavor for what is going on, don't mention that you aren't an alcoholic or that you are there for the purpose of a class. This isn't being dishonest, since people are there for so many reasons, anyway, that you will be just one of many. See how people act. If you are interested on some alternative takes on AA, check out: http:www.orange-papers.or g http:www.morerevealed.com and the videos at: Good luck on your research and your paper.
